We talk a lot about websites, responsiveness, and online security, but today we want to talk about something else entirely.
Over the last couple of months in 2022 we had the opportunity to give back to our wonderful community here in Sparta. We have been so blessed by this community that we’ve called home for almost two decades now, that we wanted to do our part, and do our best to bless those around us in a few different ways.
During this past holiday season, we connected with multiple organizations in our community whose goals are to help others in our community. These organizations provided us with incredible opportunities to give back to those less fortunate. Look below at some details and photos from the places we were able to help out!
We reached out to Sparta High School and asked if there was anything we could do to help any high school students in our community. They provided us a list of items for several students and their siblings. We went out and purchased presents, and gift cards, wrapped the items in our office, and brought them over to the school! We were fortunate enough to help 9 different Sparta Area School District families with a value over $2,200 worth of gifts and gift cards!
Sojourners Journey has helped so many families and individuals in our area who struggle with substance use or homelessness in Monroe County. This past holiday season, we held a food drive. We collected donations in our office and at the Sparta Hockey Rink, then we went out as a team and bought over 3 shopping carts full of non-perishable groceries and household items for them. In total we delivered over 300 pounds of groceries and household goods! It was a great chance to give back to a group that has spent so much time, effort, and money helping out our community and those in need year after year.
In 2019, a group of Sparta High School students started the Sparta Robotans FIRST Robotics Team. The group encourages development in the areas of mathematics and science. These two areas are a major focus for Kehren Development as they are utilized every day in our workplace. We were pleased to provide the “Captain” degree of sponsorship to help the team advance and grow young technical people in our community.
The Parenting Place helps and supports parents in our community. Their resources prepare, strengthen, and support parents and caregivers by creating greater understanding of the impact they have on the lives of children in their care. They are an excellent organization that has helped countless mothers and fathers in Monroe and Lacrosse counties. After seeing a post on social media requesting help with some specific items they were running low on, we decided to get shopping again! We were fortunate enough to provide them with over 7,500 wipes, 1,000 diapers, and 900 ounces of formula!
Hockey is the best, but what's one thing that makes watching Hockey even better? Popcorn of course!
The Sparta Youth Hockey Association is very near and dear to our hearts as our CEO’s kids have been skating there for the last 11 years! So once we found out their popcorn machine suddenly passed away we decided to provide them with a brand-new popcorn machine! Hockey and the hockey rink is an important part of our community and our childrens lives, so this is our way of giving back a little to the rink and our community! Head down to the rink and grab some popcorn during the next game or open skate!
